Dear YRSA Reps/Chaperones,
All the little final details are being worked out for the 2009 YRSA Conference - The Power Within. We hope you are as excited as we are!!
A few housekeeping items:
1) Billeting Informtation - We are just finalizing details with our Host families. You will be receiving a letter with the names of the host families for your delegates and in come cases, yourselves. It will have their contact information so that you can touch base with them BEFORE the conference. If you can please make a point to email and tell them a little bit about yourself or the students they will be hosting...maybe a picture.... That would be great!
2) Updated Schedule - There is an updated schedule on the website onder "Itinerary". Please check it out as some things have changed and been moved around. We are excited to add that Michael Lee Chin will be speaking after Opening Ceremonies.
3) Travel Arrangements - We are still waiting on a few travel arrangements to be sent to vkraus@fernhillschool.com. It is very important that we have this information ASAP so that we can book the times for the buses to pick people up at the airport and train stations. As soon as we have all of this information we will send out information as to where you will be picked up and at what time.
Travelling by car - If you are travelling by car. Please come to Appleby College between 1:30 and 3:30pm. There will be signs directing you where to park and come in for Registration.
Parking Permit for Appleby College - If your vehicle will be staying at Appleby College you will require a parking permit. Please email dsewell@appleby.on.ca if you will require a permit.
4) Sunday, April 26th Schedule -
Everyone will arrive at Appleby College sometime between 1:30-4:00. If you arrive prior to 4:00 you are welcome to have a tour of the campus. Host families that are available will come to meet you and take you back to the house for a shower, rest etc.. (if time permits you to get back in time for 4:00pm).
4:00 Practice for Opening Ceremonies
5:00 Opening Ceremonies - full uniform required.
6:00 Dinner and guest speaker - Michael Lee Chin
7:30 Home with your Host Families and some chaperones to the hotel
5) Virgin Unite Presentations - If you have any questions regarding the Virgin Unite Presentations please contact Joanne McLean 2directors@fernhillschool.com prior to coming to the conference.
6) Chaperone Checklist - Please ensure that you are checking the Chaperone checklist periodically to ensure that everything is covered.
